Texans Radio Draft Coverage

Starting tonight at 6 p.m. CT, Texans Radio will go all in on 2013 NFL Draft coverage.

From Reliant Stadium at the Draft Party, Texans Live will air from 6-7, with host Marc Vandermeer. Joining him will be the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain, and I’ll be on with Nick Scurfield as well.

From 7-10:30 tonight, Texans Radio will cover the first round with Vandermeer, Mike Meltser and Seth Payne providing analysis throughout.

Tomorrow from 5:30 to 10 p.m., we’ll cover the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well, as you’ll get to hear from each pick the team takes.

The final day of the Draft will be an 8-hour affair, with live coverage from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Texans All Access on Tuesday

Tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m. CT on Texans Radio, it’s a Draft Bonanza on Texans All Access.

We’ll carry general manager Rick Smith’s 12:15 press conference live, and then have him in studio after to dissect the pivotal three days approaching at the end of the week.

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network will join the show as well for his weekly segment.

Play-by-play voice Marc Vandermeer will host, and I’ll be in studio with Nick Scurfield as well.

Today’s Texans All Access is a doozy: Peter King of Sports Illustrated checks in with us.

He’ll join the show along with the NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, who has a weekly segment during the Draft builup.

Also, defensive end Antonio Smith will check in after voluntary workouts, as will tight end Owen Daniels.

Play-by-play voice Marc Vandermeer is hosting, and I’m riding shotgun along with Nick Scurfield.

Matt Schaub, Andre Ware join Texans All Access

Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. CT, Texans voice Marc Vandermeer has a packed “Texans All Access”.

Team color commentator and 1989 Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware will sit in with Vandermeer for the full two hours, and they’ll catch up with quarterback Matt Schaub in the second hour.

Also, the NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah will check in to provide some Draft analysis.

Nick Scurfield and I will join the program at 1:15 p.m., and the final listen-to-win portion of the ‘Present the Pick, Presented by Coors Light‘ Challenge will go down at 12:30.

Ed Reed, Shane Lechler to join Texans All Access on Tuesday

After an eventful Friday and Saturday in free agency, host Marc Vandermeer will discuss the Texans’ new acquisitions and much more on Tuesday’s ‘Texans All Access’.

From noon-2 p.m. CT on HoustonTexans.com, the Houston Texans Mobile app and SportsRadio 610, the show will feature interviews with the likes of All-Pro safety Ed Reed and All-Pro punter Shane Lechler. Both of those new Texans shared their excitement of joining the squad.

Also, the weekly segment with Draft guru and former scout Daniel Jeremiah from the NFL Network will happen, and he’ll share his thoughts on the team’s moves in free agency as well.

Plus, Vandermeer interviewed Rams’ head coach Jeff Fisher and Redskins’ head coach Mike Shanahan, and those two will share their unique viewpoints on Gary Kubiak and the Texans.

During the two hour window, a listen-to-win contest called “Present the Pick, Presented by Coors Light” will take place. The winner gets to announce a Texans’ draft pick this April in New York City.

Topping it all off, Shelbie from the Houston Texans Cheerleaders will join the show to talk about the upcoming cheer tryouts on April 6th.

Draft/Free Agency-heavy Texans All Access on deck

Tomorrow on Texans All Access from noon to 2 p.m. CT, we have a slew of guests. Marc Vandermeer is the host, and I’ll help along with former Patriots’ linebacker Ted Johnson, as well as Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com.

Outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus tallied 6 sacks in limited duty as a rookie last season, and he’ll join the show in the first hour. Also in the first 60 minutes, we’ll hear from former scout and current Draft Guru for the NFL Network, Daniel Jeremiah.

Running backs coach Chick Harris will join the show in the second hour, and we’ll also have quite a bit to say about the start of free agency.

Heading to the Indy Combine

On Thursday, Nick Scurfield and I head off on our annual trip to Indianapolis for the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium.

This year, for the first time ever, we’re working with Google+ and the Pro Football Writers of America to give one lucky fan a chance to ask a question during the Houston Texans’ press conference. It’s Thursday at 3:30 p.m. CT with general manager Rick Smith and head coach Gary Kubiak.

If you’re interested, submit a question on Google+ and Twitter using the hashtags #CombinePlus and #Texans.

One fan question will be selected, and the answer will be recorded live and available on-demand shortly after the press conference. We’ll announce the lucky winner here on the Houston Texans Google+ page, along with the video of the Q&A.

Brian Cushing to appear on Texans All Access

Texans play-by-play voice Marc Vandermeer hosts the two-hour weekly radio show “Texans All Access,” which provides an exclusive look into the offseason activity of the Texans. The show airs Tuesdays during the offseason from 12-2 p.m. CST.

“The NFL season never truly ends. From the scouting combine to free agency to the draft and OTAs, there is always something happening,” Vandermeer said. “This show will be delivered with game day intensity and production value. Listeners will get all the latest Texans information in an audio atmosphere that extends the feel and flavor of the regular season all year long.”

This week’s guests are ILB Brian Cushing, who will be on air at 12:15 p.m., and defensive backs coach Vance Joseph at 1 p.m.
