Third-quarter notes: Texans 24, Titans 10

THE TEXANS DEFENSE
· Tied a season high with four takeaways in the game. Houston also forced four turnovers in the season opener vs. Miami (9/9). The franchise record is five takeaways in a game, which has happened five times, most recently on 11/23/08 at Cleveland.
· Established a season high with 5.0 sacks in the game. Houston’s defense registered 4.0 sacks vs. Tennessee (9/30), in Week 7 vs. Baltimore (10/21) and in Week 9 vs. Buffalo (11/4).
K SHAYNE GRAHAM
· Connected on a 50-yard field goal in the third quarter. It was his 11th career field goal of 50 yards or longer and his second as a Texan.
OLB WHITNEY MERCILUS
· Recovered a fumble in the third quarter, the first of his career.
· Registered his second sack of the game and fifth of the season when he dropped Locker for a loss of 5 yards in the third quarter.
ILB BARRETT RUUD
· Registered his first sack as a Texan and the sixth of his career when he dropped Tennessee QB Jake Locker for a loss of 8 yards in the third quarter. It was Ruud’s first sack since 12/26/10 vs. Seattle as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
DE ANTONIO SMITH
· Notched his 20th sack as a Texan and his fifth of the season when he dropped Tennessee QB Jake Locker for a 9-yard loss in the third quarter.
