Third-quarter notes: Texans 24, Lions 24

DETROIT — Courtesy of the Texans’ public relations staff, notes from the third quarter of Week 12 at Ford Field, where the Texans and Lions are tied 24-24:

THE TEXANS
·         Were tied after three quarters for the first time this season. Houston has led going into the fourth quarter in eight games and trailed twice.

RB JUSTIN FORSETT
·         Scored on an 81-yard run in the third quarter. It was the longest run of his career and the longest run in Texans franchise history. Forsett’s previous long was a 35-yard run vs. Tampa Bay on 12/20/09 as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. The previous long for the Texans was a 74-yard touchdown run by Arian Foster on 10/3/10 at Oakland.

RB ARIAN FOSTER
·         Surpassed 1,000 rushing yards for the season on a 7-yard run in the third quarter. He entered the game with 962 yards on the season. Foster is the first Texans back to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards three times.

DE J.J. WATT
·         Batted down his 12th pass of the season when he deflected a throw in the third quarter. Watt is the fourth player since 1982 to record 12 or more sacks and 12 or more passes defensed in the same season.
