DETROIT — Courtesy of the Texans’ public relations staff, notes from the first quarter of Week 12 at Ford Field, where the Texans trail the Lions 7-0:

·         Gave up their first rushing touchdown of the season when Detroit RB Mikel Leshoure scored from 2 yards out to cap the Lions’ first drive of the game. Houston had not allowed a rushing touchdown in the first 219 opponent rushing attempts this season.

·         Trailed at the end of the first quarter for the third time this season. Houston is 1-1 when trailing after the opening period.

·         Made his professional debut when he took the field for the opening kickoff. He spent his rookie season on the Reserve/Injured list with a shoulder injury and was inactive for Houston’s first 10 games this season.

·         Extended his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 78 with a 7-yard catch in the first quarter.

·         Punted three times in the first quarter and had each punt downed inside the Detroit 20-yard line. His first two punts traveled 52 and 53 yards, and his third was a 36-yarder that was downed at the Lions 10-yard line.

·         Sacked Detroit QB Matthew Stafford for a 7-yard loss on the first play of the game, raising his season total to 12.5. The sack moved him past DE/OLB Mario Williams (12.0, 2008) for the second-highest single-season total in team history. Williams holds the franchise record with 14.0 sacks in 2007.

·         Inactive players for the Texans were NT Shaun Cody, ILB Tim Dobbins, T Andrew Gardner, CB Johnathan Joseph, WR DeVier Posey, RB Ben Tate and G Cody White.

·         Captains for the Texans were ILB Tim Dobbins, WR Andre Johnson, FS Shiloh Keo, C Chris Myers, QB Matt Schaub, DE Antonio Smith and DE J.J. Watt. Schaub, Johnson and Watt went to midfield for the pregame coin toss.

·         The Lions won the toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff.
