Texans can clinch playoff berth in Week 12
Posted by on November 20, 2012 – 9:37 pmWith six regular-season games still remaining, the Texans can become the first NFL team to clinch a playoff berth this week.
Here are the scenarios, as provided by the NFL:
Houston clinches a playoff berth with:
1) HOU win + TEN loss or tie + MIA loss or tie + NYJ loss or tie + CIN loss + SD loss or tie
2) HOU win + TEN loss or tie + MIA loss or tie + NYJ loss or tie + CIN loss or tie + PIT loss
Last season, the Texans clinched the AFC South title in Week 14, marking their first-ever postseason trip.
If the playoffs started today, the Texans (9-1) would have the No. 1 seed in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens (8-2) would be the No. 2 seed, followed by the New England Patriots (7-3), Denver Broncos (7-3), Indianapolis Colts (6-4) and Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4).
