Texans draft Georgia C Ben Jones 99th overall

Posted by Nick Scurfield on April 28, 2012 – 10:28 am

With the 99th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Texans have selected Georgia center Ben Jones.

Jones (6-3, 304), from Centreveille, Ala., started 49 games for the Bulldogs. He was a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection and an All-SEC pick in 2011.

Jones is the second interior lineman drafted by the Texans in 2012. They also drafted guard Brandon Brooks from Miami (Ohio) with the 76th overall pick in the third round.

So do I. We have 2 center and they barely get injure so what is the point of getting another Center. We just going to leave him out anyway. After trading Demeco Ryan you get this guy for 3rd Pick? What a joke!

My theory is they’ll put him at RT or move him to guard. You have to realize a lot of the O line guys are interchangeable so that’s just my guess. Anyway, Rick Smith has done an amazing job and I’ll trust pretty much anything he does.
