Arian Foster eliminated from “Madden” cover voting

Texans fans who believe in the “Madden Curse” can breathe a sigh of relief: Arian Foster has been eliminated from the ESPN.com voting for the cover of EA Sports’ “Madden NFL 2013.”

Foster was ousted in the second round by Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Out of 431,695 votes cast in their matchup, Foster received 27 percent to Johnson’s 73. Foster had beaten Jets quarterback Tim Tebow 54-46 percent in Round 1, while Johnson had blown past Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe by a 92-8 percent margin.

Despite a widespread belief that appearing on the cover of “Madden” brings with it bad luck (namely, injuries), Foster openly campaigned for votes on Twitter, YouTube and other platforms. It was a spirited — and, at times, very unique effort — but his quest to #reversethecurse ultimately fell short.

    Too bad that he lost…I would have picked up a copy, However, let’s remember he lost to the second best receiver in the NFL named Johnson.

    I voted against him to keep him off the cover… In fact i voted heavily for like Ray rice or somebody I would like to disappear during the season..lol.
