Arrive-early giveaways on Saturday

Posted by Nick Scurfield on January 6, 2012 – 11:36 am

With a strong homefield advantage crucial to winning football, especially in the playoffs, the Texans encourage all fans attending the playoff game against Cincinnati this Saturday at Reliant Stadium to arrive well before the 3:30 p.m. CT kickoff.

There are plenty of giveaways for those who do. As with every Texans home game, within the first 30 minutes of the gates opening at 2 p.m. CT, fans have a chance to receive a $100 gift certificate to 5115 Restaurant & Lounge. A total of $10,000 in gift certificates will be given out.

Beyond that, Verizon has generously offered an additional incentive for fans to arrive before kickoff. The Texans will select 10 lucky fans who get in their seats within the first 30 minutes of the gates opening to receive one of these autographed items, courtesy of Verizon:

-1 LB Brian Cushing football
-1 LB Cushing authentic jersey
-1 TE Owen Daniels football
-1 WR Andre Johnson authentic jersey
-1 WR Andre Johnson authentic helmet
-1WR Jacoby Jones football
-1 LB DeMeco Ryans football
-1 LB DeMeco Ryans authentic jersey
-1 QB Matt Schaub football
-1 OLB Mario Williams authentic jersey

Sure would be nice if the music before the start of the game included ” Party Train ” by the Gap Band because everyone needs to get on the train !!!!

    “All aboard “

Well, I was at the game early, entered the place at the stadium at 2pm, I did not see any $100.00 gift certificate giveaways to the fans from this Restaurant and Lounge. The information was vague, was this giveaways at random?

I was on my seat as instructed but I guess the autographed items giveaways by Verizon is also given to “friends” only.

Btw, all these years from day 1 season games, I’ve never been absent fyi, the winners selected on giveaways are always from the 5 or 6 levels, none on the field level, and I find this a problem.

As a fan who got there way early, since I am disabled, I did not see any GIVEAWAYS at all. Now all I got was a increase in my Season Tickets and Handicap Parking Pass cost. I am on Social Security Disablity and it is not much so you can say I am a really devoted fan, but Rick Smith you need to lose your job now. Wake up Mr. McNair and see your fans leave because of the losses of key players and so called “FAKE GIVEAWAYS” from last season and Season Ticket and Parking Prices.

Big Texan fan here. Not happy to read that they are pulling scams for marketing purposes.

It would be nice to know the giveaways were real and not fake. If it was all just marketing, I’d like to know who’s behind it.
